Architectural firm luis vidal + architects, specializing in healthcare and transportation design, has announced that Jim Henry, AIA has been appointed executive vice president & managing principal, North America, effective April 14. Henry brings over two decades of experience to the role, including a background in design, leadership and innovative problem-solving.

At luis vidal + architects, Henry will lead the firm’s North American practice across all verticals, overseeing the region’s design and business development activities. He will bring his passion for design, health and well-being, and sustainability to the role, striving to create state-of-the-art projects. His responsibilities will also include making Dallas — where the company designed the Terminal D expansion of the DFW Airport — a major center of operations for the firm, in addition to its current office in Miami.

As senior vice president and global director of health and well-being at CallisonRTKL, Henry led the development of global healthcare sector, with a focus on exceptional client service, innovative design thinking, and human centered approach to design. Prior to CallisonRTKL, Henry held various leadership roles at design firm HDR, including vice president of the U.S. Western Region leader for health and global design director of health.

Henry is an accomplished architect, having won numerous awards for his design work and leadership, including the AIA National Young Architect’s Award and the Building Design + Construction “40 Under 40” Awards.
