I transformed my New York City balcony into a ‘garden’ – a simple Amazon upgrade changed everything
A NEW Yorker has revealed how they turned their balcony into a garden oasis.
Although she was renting, a simple Amazon buy elevated her space instantly.
Katie Lewis (@k8newyork) shared her effective DIY home project in a TikTok video.
The interior design expert explained that she had invested significant effort into her renovation projects, to the point where her landlord took notice.
After a year of living at her New York apartment, her landlord was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades she had made.
When she had first moved in, her concrete balcony overlooking the city was barren and decrepit.
With $40 astroturf from Amazon, she quickly changed the vibe, bringing it to its "full potential."
She snipped the faux grass into the shape of her balcony floor, slotting the turf into its cozy dimensions.
After a bit of maneuvering and measuring, she had the perfect fit.
A few lawn chairs later, her garden oasis was all ready for lounging.

"Might start referring to all balconies as gardens from now on," she joked, adding the hashtag #renterfriendly.
The soft ground was great on sunny days and Katie took full advantage of good weather by doing her yoga on the balcony.
Best of all, clean-up on the turf was easy with a vacuum.
